C-Clamp
Also known as
Half Coupler, O-Clamp, Pipe Clamp, Hook Clamp, Lighting Clamp
Used for
Attaching lighting fixtures and other equipment to circular lighting pipe, truss chord tubes, or box truss pipe. The half-round jaw wraps around the pipe; tightening the T-bolt closes the jaw and locks the fixture in place. A safety cable through the safety hole secures the fixture against a dropped clamp.
Trade note
Despite the name, the lighting C-clamp is a completely different tool from the woodworking C-clamp. The entertainment industry C-clamp (a.k.a. half coupler) is a one-pipe hook clamp — "half" of a full Cheeseborough, which joins two pipes together. Always check the pipe diameter the clamp is rated for: most are sized for 1.5" or 2" OD schedule-40 pipe.
