Used for
Joining adjacent staging deck sections (panels) together so they act as a single rigid surface. The cam-action bolt threads through a plate spanning the seam between two deck panels; a half-turn with a coffin key draws the panels tight and locks them against lateral movement. Used on every modular staging system — Staging Concepts, Sico, StageRight, and similar.
Trade note
Named for the vaguely coffin-shaped cam body at the center of the hardware. The "coffin key" (the 5/16" hex key used to tighten it) takes its name from the same source. One coffin lock per seam is the minimum; production standards typically call for one every 24"–48" along a seam depending on load.
